some of them have similar questions about shopping in Taipei.
Especially, almost all my customers are good fathers & husbands,
they like to ask me, "Do you know where I can buy the souvenirs to my wife or son?"
Here is my suggestions to shopping in Taipei City.
By Bus 1210 in Linkou
You can take the bus 1210 (in front of KFC) to Taipei West Bus Station Terminal A (the final stop),
just next to Taipei main station (NT$45/person, about 30 mins).
Back to Linkou: take the bus at the same place, and same rate, take off at the first stop after the journey of the highway.
Please take a calculator with you, once you want to ask for the price, you can use it with the people who don't speak English.
1. Taipei Main Station : Breeze Center, from B1, 1st, 2nd floor of Taipei main station.
International food street on 2nd floor, you can find Indian foods over there.

If you want to try typical Taiwanese vegetarian food, you can also find one restaurant over there.
Many shops on B1 & 1st floor, you can buy many Taiwanese souvenirs, like pickled chili or sweets.
Some of them offer you sample to test it.
2. Taipei Underground Market & Zhongshan Metro Mall
Along with the Taipei Metro station (Underground), it's a long street with many shops & stores.
You can find the direction to walk to Zhongshan (a Metro station stop) Metro Mall.
Small gifts you can find over there.
3. Q-Square (Department Store; good quality items)
You can find the direction mark to walk there from B1 of Taipei Main Station.
4. Many shops and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi (department store, the tallest building over there, also my favorite) in front of the Bus Station.
You can find good quality dresses to your daughter. (Many Taiwanese Brand)
Regarding the clothes for you or kid, I suggest you the local brand NET, GIORDANO, Hang Ten, Bossini.
You can check the style from the links. And you can find many shops on the street when you walk in Taipei city.
When you stand in front of the station, you will find "Uniqlo" (Japanese Brand) next to Shin Kong Mitsukoshidepartment store, it is very popular in Taiwan now.
